Can hypnotherapy really help with low confidence?
Yes – hypnotherapy works directly with your subconscious mind, where many of your limiting beliefs about yourself were formed. Combined with CBT, which addresses your conscious thought patterns and behaviours, Hypno-CBT is one of the most effective approaches for building genuine, lasting confidence. Many of my clients notice a shift within the first two or three sessions.
What's the difference between confidence and self-esteem
They’re related but distinct. Self-esteem is your overall sense of self-worth – how you value yourself as a person. Confidence is more situational – your belief in your ability to handle specific tasks or situations. You can have high self-esteem but low confidence in certain areas, or vice versa. Hypno-CBT addresses both, helping you build a strong inner foundation as well as practical confidence for everyday life.
I've always been unconfident. Can that really change?
Absolutely, Low confidence isn’t a permanent personality trait – it’s a learned pattern of thinking and behaving. You brain has remarkable neuroplasticity, meaning it can form new neural pathways at any age. Through hypnotherapy and CBT, we can actively rewire those old patterns and replace them with more helpful, positive ones. I’ve worked with clients who described themselves as “always unconfident” and I’ve seen remarkable tranformations.
How many sessions will I need to build confidence?
Typically 3-6 sessions. Hypno-CBT is trageted, outcome-driven therapy. In the first session, we’ll assess where you are and set clear goals. Many clients begin to notice changes from the very first session, with each subsequent session building and deepening that progress. I also provide recorded hypnotherapy processes that are yours to keep and use for life.
Can you help with imposter syndrome?
Yes – imposter syndrome is one of the most common confidence issues I treat. That persistent feeling of being a fraud, of not deserving your achievements, or waiting to be “found out” is incredibly common, especially among high-achieving professionals. Hypno-CBT is very effective at addressing the core beliefs and thought patterns that drive imposter syndrome. We work on both the cognitive level – challenging the distorted thinking – and the deeper subconscious level through hypnotherapy.
Do you offer confidence therapy online?
Yes – I offer hypnotherapy and CBT sessions via Zoom, Teams and FaceTime. Online therapy has been proven to work very effectively for confidence and self-esteem work. Many of my clients prefer the comfort and convenience of working from home. I’m based in Caterham Surrey, and see clients across Purley, Croydon, South London and further afield.
